LYMEEZ 3D MESH LEG GAITERS are designed around how ticks actually reach people. Ticks do not fly or jump; most exposure begins when ticks transfer from grass, brush, or leaf litter onto footwear or the lower leg, then instinctively climb upward in search of an attachment site. Lymeez gaiters are worn at this primary point of contact to intercept ticks during ascent.
The gaiters use a patented 3D textile structure whose novel function is slowing tick movement during ascent. Testing has shown that ticks move approximately 4–8× more slowly on this structure compared to flat woven fabric, increasing the time ticks remain within the treated zone before reaching skin.
Lymeez gaiters are factory treated in the USA with EPA-registered, microencapsulated permethrin. Microencapsulation protects the active ingredient from UV degradation and releases repellent gradually through friction of use, supporting long-lasting repellency without user retreatment. Because the gaiters are worn over any pants or boots and are easy to put on and remove, they are more likely to be used consistently in real-world conditions.
Designed for working outdoors, hiking, walking, gardening, camping, golfing, birding, and hunting.
Field Use & Professional Adoption
Lymeez tick gaiters are used by professionals and outdoor workers in tick-endemic regions across the United States. The statements below reflect real-world field use in environments with sustained tick exposure.
Archaeological Fieldwork — Southeastern U.S.
“For the past four summers I’ve ended up with a tick-borne disease no matter how much I spray. I bought a pair for myself and two more for employees working with me in the field.”
Field Team Use — Lone Star Tick Region
“My work requires year-round field exposure where ticks are constant, especially aggressive Lone Star ticks. Our entire team now uses them for tick protection.”
Land Management — Upper Midwest
“After a spring and summer working in Wisconsin woods, I had no ticks attached. A few ticks I observed on the gaiters did not continue upward.”
Outdoor Professional — High-Risk Region
“These are easy to put on and remove and work with any pants or boots. They’ve become standard gear for me.”
INTENDED USE: Rugged. Good for field, brush & woods.
HOW ATTACH: Wrap. Flexible fit. 3 hook tabs attach to vertical loop strip as well as 3D mesh (which also acts as loop).
NOTE: Not available in Canada.
